My passion as a software design professional is tool creation for non-technical users. While I have a broad range of technical interests and experience with development tools, I am most interested in the idea of computers and software as tools to enhance the jobs and lives of the non-technical computer user. I want to make a significant difference for people in the office and at home, to end their struggle with unintuitive or downright unfriendly tools and user interfaces created by programmers far too isolated from the user’s daily needs. The contribution to professional and everyday life of computer-based tools, though very large, has fallen behind what might be possible with the right attention to the principles of user interface and application design, and my goal as a professional is to push the practical realities of computer use towards the ideal.
