This volunteer position gives me the benefits of two highly important parts of Alternative Press, Social Media and On-site presence. While Alternative Press has much notoriety around the country, I help provide curated content for the Charlotte Alternative Press Facebook page as well as attend local concerts as the face of Alternative Press. These responsibilities include communicating with local concert goers, provide meaningful interactions and bring more notoriety with Alternative Press in the music scene.

I had the privilege to intern for iHeartMedia as part of their Marketing and Promotions Internship program. The duties involved representing the iHeartMedia Charlotte cluster at different events ranging from concerts, special venues and bars. During these events I helped promote the stations through special sweepstakes and giveaways to help promote the venues and bring more notoriety to the iHeartMedia radio stations. This internship really gave a great hands on experience to explore the radio industry and connect with listeners through promotions. Other opportunities involved shadowing On-air DJ's in their natural habitat and being able to observe their interactions on the phone with listeners. Also was able to have some board operating experience as well as having to segue commercial and song playlists in order to ensure smoother transitions when aired.
