The NBSOs are particularly effective in supporting small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs). NBSOs have no diplomatic status, they are exclusively dedicated to the promotion of Dutch trade & investment. Furthermore, the activities pursued by NBSOs are coordinated by the local embassies.In Spain the NBSO is located in the city of Barcelona, and predominantly directs its service provisions at the Spanish autonomous regions of Catalonia and Aragon. It does so in strong collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Madrid and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The NBSO Barcelona has good contacts with the regional governments in the country and holds an excellent regional network, and is therefore able to quickly deliver the right information and service.
