• Senior Project Manager responsible for leading major concurrent application development and IT systems projects for the ISO New England (ISONE) power market and grid operations systems• Managed several project teams with 100+ contributors• Projects included a number of ISO New England’s largest initiatives. Some examples are: o Implementation and migration to a new backup control center o Replacement of the ISONE web infrastructure including redesign of the ISONE website o Energy Management Systems (EMS) Upgrade project (a 2-year effort to upgrade the most significant components of ISONE’s highly customized critical cyber asset systems) o Modification of operations, market, and settlement components for new electric demand market• Experience in a formal PMO with well defined project life cycle and SDLC processes.• Significant executive interaction including regular status presentations to the executive committee and multiple corporate scorecard level projects

• Managed the ISONE EMS Applications team which supports ISONE’s EMS and other real-time mission critical IT systems (all of ISONE’s Critical Cyber Assets covered under NERC CIP). o Management of the team and its work has been highly praised by management, team members, operations personnel, coworkers, project managers, and participants. During this period, the EMS Applications team received more awards than any other group in the organization.• Worked with other supervisors/managers to coordinate the efforts of employees and contractors across the 4 divisions of IT-EMS (EMS Applications, Power System Modeling, Real-Time Markets, Day Ahead Markets) and other ISONE information technology departments to architect, develop, test, and implement major applications development and grid control system expansion/improvement projects.• This was an extremely fast paced and demanding position which required constant management of resources both inside and outside of the EMS Applications group involved in multiple simultaneous major projects while supporting the most mission critical systems in ISO New England. • Largest Project: Simultaneously oversaw efforts of almost 100 generation plant owners and demand response participants (approximately 300 generators and 5000 demand assets) in an ambitious project to redesign and replace the systems used to dispatch all generation and demand assets in New England.o Almost 100 simultaneous 3+ month projects completed in 1.5 years while working remotely with each market participant and their chosen vendor(s).o This was a major change that many doubted could be completed in the time allotted, but it was successfully completed ahead of schedule.o Received “Employee of the Quarter”/”Circle of Excellence” award.• Successfully passed NERC CIP audit after volunteering to be first Independent Service Organization (ISO) audited.

• Lead EMS Engineer on the EMS 2.3 Upgrade project responsible for integration, system builds, assisting/mentoring project resources, troubleshooting, test coordination, and cutover. o The EMS Upgrade project was completed two months ahead of the original schedule after virtually the entire original project team quit.o Received “Employee of the Quarter” award.• Lead EMS Engineer on Electronic Dispatch system upgrade for market system enhancement project.

• Areva product expert responsible for training and support of AREVA customers and employees.• Onsite support of customers including:o ALSTOM software engineer assisting the First Energy EMS Replacement (2004-2005)o ALSTOM software engineer providing training for the Idaho Power EMS Replacement (2005)o ALSTOM software engineer providing training for the BCTC EMS project (2006)o ALSTOM software/project engineer on e-terracontrol installations and upgrades at First Energy, Connecticut Valley Electric Exchange (CONVEX), Pennsylvania Power and Light (PP&L), Florida State University, and Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).o ALSTOM software/project engineer on e-terracomm installations and upgrades at Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).

• Responsible for project management, technical leadership, custom software development, systems integration, customer support, customer training, and contract negotiation for multiple EMS projects.o ALSTOM project engineer on Nashville Electric SCADA Replacement (2000-2001)o ALSTOM project manager and project lead on OtterTail Power SCADA/AGC Replacement (2000-2001)o ALSTOM project engineer on Kansas City Board of Public Utilities SCADA Replacement (2001-2002)o ALSTOM project manager and project lead on Madison Gas and Electric EMS Upgrade (2002-2004)o ALSTOM project engineer on database migration and upgrade at First Energy.o ALSTOM software/project engineer on EMS database migration (from GE and Siemens systems) and e-terracontrol installation and upgrade at First Energy.o ALSTOM project engineer on e-terracomm installations and upgrades at Enron and PJM Interconnection.• A key member of a new division within ALSTOM responsible for sales, marketing, contract negotiations, custom development, integration, delivery, and support efforts targeting EMS systems for smaller utilities. The group also provided close support for ALSTOM’s East Coast customers.• Designated across the international ALSTOM organization as an official “Expert” in EMS systems. Also, was an expert within ALSTOM for e-terracontrol and e-terracomm.

• Lead technical teams to assess the process and IT assets of entire companies including the generation, transmission, distribution, IT and maintenance assets of over 10 major energy utilities (in US and Brazil) and the facilities and IT infrastructure of over 400 Xerox locations. Two specific examples are: o Wrote initial Y2K remediation plans for all PSE&G generation, transmission, distribution, IT, labs, and maintenance assets. The plan became the standard for all of the future Y2K projects by NSEC utility customers. o Lead a team of engineers that performed Y2K evaluations of two utilities in Brazil and presented the results to Brazilian government regulators.• Developed and, in some cases, monitored the implementation of plans that were used by our clients company-wide. Two specific examples are: o Project Manager of the Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) Remediation Project at Ginna Nuclear Plant. o Monitored the Y2K effort of the PSE&G generation and transmission facilities.

• Implemented the process control strategy for Distributed Control Systems (DCS).• Completed a project originally estimated as a 2 year effort to configure and document a waste water treatment plant DCS control system in 2 months.

• Project/team lead for power plant process control system projects for both new construction and major retrofit/upgrade projects designed to optimize plant efficiency.• Member of highly regarded control systems team within the IT organization responsible for all plant control systems, metering, and IT systems.• Experience with natural gas, oil, coal, wood, and waste combined heat and power plants.• Combustion control and process control systems expertise.• Exposed to power plant economics, politics, and labor issues. • Conducted due diligence reviews before plant purchases.• Applications development.• Trained operators and engineers in the operation and maintenance of plant control systems and provided ongoing support to 26 plants in the US and Canada.
