4 billion, it’s the number of times my models were run last year. Every product can benefit from data science and if you're looking for someone who can take an idea from inception to production, that's what I've been doing for the last 20 years. The following approach works.- Understand the problem, while working with stakeholders (product owner, management, clients, legal, privacy) to meet business objectives - revenue, user experience, efficiency- Understand the data - existing, 3rd party, gaps, privacy, labelling, quality- Match the problem to existing research- Work with stakeholders (product, legal, privacy, clients) to authorize the data and plan the controls to protect people's privacy through data minimization, masking, encryption, tokenization- Design and build an experiment to validate the hypothesis- Build a data pipeline to understand, normalize, and enrich the data- Run the experiment on GCP / Azure / AWS / locally - Understand the results - Does it meet the business objective? Does it meet the non-functional requirements?- Help the product manager to prioritize features- Help the scrum team to understand tasks- Help QA with production acceptance testing, including understanding accuracy/recall and performance- Monitor production - Is there a drift in input or results?- Have lunch :)I've completed these types of projects for organizations of all sizes, from startups to Canada's largest banks, including problem domains, image, video, mapping, fraud detection, link analysis, navigation, OCR, and finance. To continue the conversation, drop me a line at nick@pixelatelab.com or here on LinkedIn.
