About Nicolas Cabargas Mori
Licensed architect in Chile, In 2014 he obtained his Master in Architecture with Distinction from the Architectural Association at the Emergent Technologies and Design Programme. For which was awarded with a Chilean Government full scholarship to study a masters in a foreign prestigious University in 2012.From 2008-2012 Nicolas led the design team at two architectural practises (OF Arquitectos and Ramirez-Moletto Arquitectos), in which he developed projects of different scales and uses, with a particular emphasis on form and material experimentation. During 2014 he was employed at Grimshaw Architects, London, participating on projects like the new Euston HS2 Station and Waterloo Station. Academically, between 2009-2012, he has taught at Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) in 4 different courses related with design and expression.Since his Master´s studies at the AA he has been fascinated by the design driven by nature (biomimetics), and interested in developing a fusion of science and mathematical based architectural approach.He is currently partner at OF Arquitectos, Chile, Professor at Architecture, Art and Design Department of the Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) and Universidad Andres Bello (UNAB).

CurrentArchitectural Association Visiting School: Biological Morphologies 2015 (Mumbai, India); BioMorph 2016 (Pune, India)The Biological Morphologies workshop is focused on material efficiency in nature and how this can be the inspiration for innovative structural solutions. This will be a digital craft workshop that considers the forming of structures inspired by biology and realised through a feedback to computational platforms,specifically using bamboo and 3d printing. Over the duration of the workshop the students will work in teams to develop projects that are directly derived from biological logic, whilst at the same time help construct a bamboo pavilion at the BNCA College in Pune.
