Recently, when USF was trying to collect and to store COVID-19 vaccination data for students in a HIPAA-compliant fashion, and then tie that data to certain business functions (e.g., granting or denying building access), we ran into challenges with a third-party software product. These challenges ultimately required the university to perform a thorough data audit and to implement a host of changes to guarantee the quality and the integrity of the data on which our stakeholders would depend. Nathan was essential to this initiative, and brought a strong sense of data governance and a mature style of conflict management to the table. I would instantly hire Nathan into a comparable role at a similar institution of higher learning, or would look to position Nathan as the manager of an entire team.
