About Nuno Sebastião

I am currently working for T-Systems Iberia (part of the Deutsche Telekom group) in the DT Telco Products TV team as a Software Architect and I am also a Visiting Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL/IPL).Previously, I was with Ovyo, taking the role of Technical Lead Engineer for the RDK video projects at Magenta and as a Video Player consultant for DT EU Telco Products. I have also worked as the STB Core Software Team Lead and Architect at NOS Inovação and as a researcher at Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores - Investigação e Desenvolvimento em Lisboa (INESC-ID), performing my work in the Signal Processing Systems (SiPS) research group. I received the PhD degree from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Lisboa and the thesis focused on the development of a dedicated computer architecture for high performance alignment of DNA sequences.As a professor, I have been teaching courses of the LEETC (electronics and telecommunications) and LEIC (computer science) undergraduate programs.Some of the current research interests are:- Video delivery technologies- Dedicated Multi-Core Computer Architectures- Implementation and Optimization of Computational Systems targeting Embedded Platforms- Design of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC)Specialties: Computer Architecture, Digital ASIC, VHDL, Embedded Systems (HW/SW)
