The Community Impact Editor works closely with the Path Forward team to identify reporting that demands further action by providing community voices — your voices — that add context and understanding to the most pressing issues we face together. I’ll manage the Ideas & Voices page with the mission of delivering balanced views, an open forum and solutions-oriented perspectives on important regional problems.

My responsibilities at LION include:• Daily content management for social channels • Monthly planning of editorial calendar aligned to Sales goals• Management of email communications, drip campaigns• Regular communication with individual Sales reps to meet their needs• Planning, execution and refinement of digital ad buys• Maintenance of web properties• Use of marketing automation software to monitor prospects and nurture leads• In-depth analytics reporting to offer predictive insights and guide marketing message• Design and construction of landing pages for one-off promotions and events• Maintenance of email databases, lists and segmentation

I manage client and community contacts in the Dayton region for the CreativeFuse Initiative (CFI) and its sister non-profit organization, Freelance Dayton. I also write promotional and technical copy for both organizations, coordinate event planning, develop long-term web and social media strategies, and facilitate communication between members of the organization and its clients.

I managed the content for the weekly and daily papers of the Cox Media Group, which include the Dayton Daily News, the Hamilton Journal News, The Springfield News-Sun and the Middletown Journal. I transcribed breaking news from reporters over the phone, wrote headlines, exercised editorial judgment over content placement and priority and refreshed content across all sites for relevancy and timeliness. I also usually got stuck with brewing the coffee, somehow.

Booked nationally touring and local talent for shows, coordinated fundraising events, managed a staff of 15 dedicated volunteers, promoted shows, raised station awareness on campus, solicited funding for and managed the annual "Lobsterfest" music festival.

Interviewed and selected a staff of editors in the fiction, non-fiction and poetry genres for the yearly editorial board. Requested funding/fundraised, coordinated meeting times, solicited writing and art submissions, created and managed events, reviewed submissions, made final determinations on submitted entries, proofed copy, worked with designer for final design, coordinated with printer, distributed copies of the final book.

Selected as one of two Poetry editors for the 2007-2008 school year. Worked with the managing editors to solicit work from the student body, and then selected the best of these submissions for final publication. Helped distribute final copies and raise awareness of the magazine on campus.

Managed and produced content for the Dayton Daily News and sisters sites as part of the Cox Ohio web team. Management of photo and video galleries, light photo editing, basic HTML/CSS formatting, and minor graphic design tasks.

Worked for the Features and Metro departments to write stories for the Dayton Daily News' Features and A1 sections. Covered a wide variety of topics, from dumpster diving to Dave Chappelle's surprise performances.
