    ● Working with the QA lead and using agile principles to test the network’s new B2B functions.● I created manual test scripts for stress tests and executed these in between ad-hoc releases forend clients. • The Exchange Lab
    Qa Engineer
The Exchange Lab Jul 2015 - Jun 2019
    - Working in fast-paced agile Kanban software development environment within the QA team, delivering ad hoc software releases to business end users.- Using the JIRA tool to raise ‘improvement’ tickets based around user experience and performance of the web application. For example, identifying that a web page needs to hide filters on a page load and then allow it’s user to expand to see all filters through a button or icon – to ensure an aesthetic and minimal design (adhering to Nielsen’s Usability Heuristics).- Translating new feature specification into automated test scripts using Selenium Web driver and C#. In order to automate functionality, I use the Chrome developer tool ‘XPath Helper’ and the DOM inspectors to find the XPaths for web page elements. I take these XPaths (element locations) and write C# code execute the functionality being tested.- Working with senior Java developers to run through failing software test scenarios. E.g. when clicking a web page save button and the JSON data values have not been parsed and save to the MySQL database successfully. I then work collaboratively and use tools such as ‘Fiddler’ to monitor HTTP request data being passed from the Front-end when the button is clicked. The developer would update code or database field to accept the required values.- Developing/managing test plans and runs using the test case management tool ‘Testrail’. Using JIRA ticket issues to track and monitor development progress.- Using Jenkins to deploy software release artifacts/branches to dynamic throw-away test environments. This allows us to execute automated and manual regression suites against specific build versions.- Conducting post release software tests to ensure that the released software meets the expectations of the client and allows users to carry out tasks in the production environment.
