I have been with Saxo Bank for 16 years in various roles and in various parts of the organization.My roles over the years are too many to detail, but span from technical lead developer to solution architect in the IT Organization and from program manager to business analyst under Business Management and the Portfolio Office.More specifically, I have spent 7 years in IT followed by 3 years in the business followed by another 4 years in IT where I currently work as a solution architect on major initiatives. I also mentor new solution architects and act as IT-technical advisor towards the entire organization on project ideas before they become prioritized projects.My primary competency lies within project execution and I enjoy driving projects from A to Z. I manage the project’s stakeholders from business owners to compliance and operations. And I facilitate an agile and transparent process with well-defined milestones and tangible deliveries through structured, precise and balanced communication – both written and oral.I am not a desktop architect - I enjoy getting into the code and I participate in the coding process as often as time allows. I believe this aspect is important as an IT representative of the project and to ensure a deep understanding of the technical deliveries and the challenges they contain.Almost all projects involve some form of transformation – be it technical or cultural. Over the years, I have come to appreciate the importance of a well-defined and risk-mitigating migration process from existing systems and processes to new systems and processes. This includes identification and understanding of how systems can co-exist for an interim period to avoid so-called big bang migrations.As to cultural transformation, I specialize in getting IT teams to perform both on average and at peak. I employ a style of leadership based on freedom under responsibility and trust. Specifically, I excel at striking the right balance between detailing enough specification for the developers to execute in the right direction, while allowing for individual freedom for each developer to solve the tasks as they see fit. The exact balance is different from developer to developer and striking this balance is something that takes years of solution architect experience and a well anchored team. I have extensive experience working with distributed teams from diverse cultures including Denmark, India, USA, England, Scotland, The Netherlands, Russia, Poland, The Ukraine and China.
