About Nick Lange

Nick Lange is a Lead User Experience Researcher at Welltech. He possess expertise in research design, human computer interaction, science, usability testing, psychology and 16 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Nick is a pragmatic researcher whose technical know-how of, and passion for, cognitive psychology and understanding of interfaces makes him an effective user researcher. He is always balanced and honest in his considerations, be it interpersonal or methodological. And his presentations--metered and firmly based in data--served to clarify any design or user problem. I believe Nick will be a valuable asset to any design or research team, and those around him will stand to benefit.", "Nick and I worked together for five years on the sponsored project Weather Decision-Making in the Cockpit funded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The project was multi-disciplinary, involving the interaction of approximately a dozen researchers with experience in human factors psychology, cognitive modeling, human computer interaction, usability, aerospace engineering, computer science, aviation accident investigation, and meteorology. Nick was an integrative presence on the research team as he is comfortable operating at the intersection of cognitive science, human factors psychology, and applied decision theory. Nick co-authored several reports and had a proposal for future work funded. He also gained his first substantive management experience overseeing this project when he moved from the academic side of the project to working directly for our industry partner (ATSC). Nick is extremely productive because of his outstanding work ethic, demonstrating great discipline in managing his time and deadlines. Finally, Nick is a great colleague as he is easy-going and accessible, while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.", and "Nick has a keen interest in drawing together several strands of research to address the question at hand. He is an all-round researcher who uses a range of experimental methodologies (behavioural, eye-tracking, EEG) and computational techniques (mathematical, neural networks). Nick has a very productive work ethic, which saw us publish 8 academic publications together within 2 years, each publication being a substantial piece of work. During our collaborative work, Nick continued to publish with his ongoing collaborators and developed his own research interests that he managed to get pilot data for. His ability to multi-task and prioritise is spot on. Due to his excellent time management skills, he gets the work done on time or mostly ahead of time, allowing him to socialise over a drink talking about the latest football (soccer) match he attended."

Listed skills include Research Design, Human Computer Interaction, Science, Usability Testing, and 17 others.
