I am a multi-certified NDT Research and Development Scientist. My main area of research is towards developing inspection methods and techniques to meet inspection specifications. I tend to be very math friendly so I commonly apply mathematics to evaluate and develop new techniques or to qualify parts of NDT systems. Most of my NDT experience is with Eddy Current, Eddy Current Array, EM testing, and within the last 5 years UT, PAUT, ToFD, and FMC.I have published over 50 papers at Eclipse/Acuren and performed nearly 35 high level studies. These studies range from simple feasibility studies to fully qualified PoD studies and PoD studies that meet code equivalences to enable replacing NDT methods. I have also published several qualified Technical Justification papers.Most of my spare time is spent writing books and learning languages. Currently I am learning Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Korean, and French.I am also developing a new method/model for calculating the Probability of Detection (PoD) that helps reduce the effect of statistical outliers while including the effect of noise in a floor ceiling type of PoD model.
