Athletic Director/Community Liaison/Pe Teacher
Washington D.C. Metro Area
As a community liaison I developed and implemented an effective family and community engagement strategy at the school level. I recruit and maintain partnership relationships with identified constituencies in support of the school and address parent complaints as needed. I developed a knowledge base of available resources inside and outside the school system that supports students, parents and school staff. I partnered with local businesses for school donations. I participate in decision making on fiscal management, school values and a creation of a safe, respectful and fair school environment. I developed materials including, but not limited to brochures, pamphlets, and presentations, regarding the school to public, prepared and made available for all school outreaches. I taught Physical Education to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. As the PE teacher I put together informative and engaging lesson plans for multiple subjects to students with different learning modalities and abilities. Assessed student performance throughout the school year or semester and conducted parent/teacher and individual student conferences. As the athletic director I created a master sports calendar that includes conference and non-conference games/events for both middle and high school boys and girls. I purchased equipment with money allotted to the middle and high school athletic budget. I collect, maintain and inventory all equipment in the program. Communicate all information regarding the athletic program to school, parents, and community. Coordinate gym use for practices and games and give final clearance for the use of either the gym or the athletic field. Take care of travel arrangements. Hire all officials. Secure game workers for athletic contests, chain crews, announcers, clock operators, score keepers, line judges, etc. Be in compliance to all district policies, administrative rules, procedures, and codes relating to and participation in DCSAA athletics.
