Shore technician performing monitoring and maintenance for the two Sea-Bird Scientific HydroCAT-EP V2 water quality monitoring sondes located in San Francisco Bay as part of the CeNCOOS (Central and Northern California Ocean Observing System) program.

Assisted in the design, assembly, and testing of ROV systems for a variety of applications. Responsibilities included circuit design and testing, cutting to length, soldering, and watertight molding of component cables, 3D modelling in SolidWorks, sensor calibration and testing, and the use of machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, etc to create or modify components. My experience at Deep Ocean Engineering covered almost every aspect of the ROV creation process, and I gained a very good understanding of the procedures required to design, build, test, and ship one of these devices.
