I've caught the coding bug.I came to Japan over 15 years ago to teach English and connect with people in Japan. I loved tutoring and helping students in America before and wanted to teach adults and experience the culture firsthand. I came and never wanted to leave. I've enjoyed my time here, but I'm looking for a new challenge. What started as a few coding projects here and there has expanded into a passion of mine. I like writing code that makes difficult problems simple. I love how I can quickly build websites with Ruby on Rails or process my taxes with a Python app. I get excited when I can sit back and run a piece of code that compiles thousands of transactions into a simple report.My specialties include picking up new programming skills and languages, problem-solving, test-driven development as well as Model View Controller (MVC) method of organizing code. I have experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, SQL, HTML, CSS, and Git/GitHub. Recently, I've been learning React and Node.JS. I'm a lifelong learner though and constantly looking for new frameworks, languages, and principles that I can make use of in my programming.
