Facility design and construction advisor to educational and not-for-profit organizations. Currently working with Washington County Humane Society (WI) on renovation and addition to existing facilities as Owner's Representative. Recently completed Owner Representative assignment with Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society on interior renovation projects and major equipment maintenance assessment. Worked with Illinois Facilities Fund (IFF) to assess 15 K - 12 campuses operated by Chicago International Charter School. On-site visits and summary reports addressed existing facility physical condition, priorities for immediate and longer term facility improvements, and ongoing operational improvements.

David Olson Designs provides personalized architectural consulting, interior design, and project management services for residential clients. Working with one client at a time, Neal David, AIA, design partner Kristen Olson and design associate Barbara McLucas assist with color and fabric selections, furniture layouts and procurement, kitchen and bath design, and window covering design and fabrication. The two maintain good relationships with local fabricators and workrooms as well as the full resources of Chicago's Merchandise Mart showrooms.

Responsibilities included planning, designing and constructing capital improvements to all city-owned facilities (approximately 425 locations). Managed both in-house professional staff and outside design/engineering/CM consultants.
