In corporate life my 28 years in IT at IBM's Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY included assignments as an end user PC educator, author of just in time learning content, developer of technology enabled help and learning systems and member of task forces on internal collaboration tools and strategy. In my last assignment I served as the Process and Program Manager for my department and led our metrics initiatives. I hold over 20 IBM patents and served as the team lead for the development of a portion of IBM internal education for inventors. I have taught end user computing topics to IBM employees, incarcerated individuals in Sing Sing, and seniors.In 2014 I graduated from the Leadership Westchester program offered by Volunteer New York. My mission, developed over the course of participating in this introspective leadership program, is to "leverage innovative business models, processes and technologies to continuously improve medical and higher education services to under-served communities." I was recently honored by Volunteer New York as the 2023 Leadership Westchester Alumnus of the Year.Since 2011 I have served on the board of Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison and specifically on a number of student and alumni related committees. In May 2022 I completed all requirements for a Westchester Community College TESOL certificate as a teacher of English for adults. Since then I have taught two class semesters as as a volunteer online co-teacher for the Washington English Center (WEC). and volunteered weekly as an in-person English tutor for walk in immigrant clients at Neighbors Link in Mt. Kisco. I currently volunteer to teach English classes for immigrants in our local community.

Students representing over 100 countries are supported by 350 volunteers who act as teachers, tutors, computer lab assistants, librarians, job coaches and mentors. Due to the pandemic WEC has expanded to serve immigrants and volunteers via virtual offerings. I completed two semesters serving one morning a week as an online co-teacher for a twelve week English language course for low level learners. I also completed one semester via Zoom as a 1:1 English language tutor for an immigrant client. -

Selfhelp offers a complete network of home care and community-based services with the overarching goal of helping seniors live with dignity and independence and avoid institutionalization. Selfhelp provides a Virtual Senior Center to enable clients to use technology from their homes to socialize and to participate in classes offered by volunteers. I created and taught a ten session technology series on the following topics: self-driving vehicles, artificial intelligence, robots, internet of things, augmented and virtual reality, 3D printers, digital assistants, online education, natural user interfaces, and technology enabled wellness. I also volunteered as a conversation partner for a senior at Selfhelp.
