Uncovered and executed strategy to deliver additional $25M in long-term cost savings over plan. Developed and piloted new SDLC process to go from “maybe monthly” to continuous deployment, with metrics to guarantee compliance, security, and quality.

Built software to transform a service-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) business model into a Software-as-a-Service platform based on Python, Postgres, JavaScript and AWS. Directed four, six–to-ten-person scrum teams, distributed across the US, Brazil, and Argentina. Utilized distinct management styles with each team, adapting to diverse cultures and experience levels. Lead Engineering and DevOps for all merchant and lending marketplace initiatives at Sezzle. Grew a Golang, MySQL and AWS microservices platform from 30k to 47k+ merchants. Built a retail lending marketplace, pivoting a single-product platform to handle many financial products, offered from both in-house and external lending partners. Used Google SRE techniques to scale the company’s highest throughput systems to handle billions of requests/month, meeting aggressive SLAs and SLOs. Hired/promoted managers and individual contributors to double a fully remote US-based team to 27 over six months. Assembled a highly diverse team, far surpassing software industry norms. Co-authored the company’s first Engineering Career Ladder, developed the first Individual Development Plan and spearheaded the first formal engineer training initiative.
