As Local Aid Agent for the humanitarian charity, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA-UK), I coordinate and manage all fundraising and donation activities in a local community of over 100 members. Besides responding to any major perturbation like a storm or earthquake by mobilizing funds in the community, there are four traditional methods for fundraising. The Coin Card (mostly for kids) and Home Tins (adult donors) run throughout the year, while Door-to-door and Gift Box Appeals take place in Spring and Autumn respectively. A proactive leader, I recently signed up to ADRA’s smarter, greener, innovative and more sustainable Gift Box Appeal digital model. Using the new secure web application, volunteers ‘drag and drop’ fill a box with virtual gifts worth £10. ADRA then sends the money directly to a beneficiary country to source the gifts needed locally. For the door-to-door, I recruit and train volunteers into great ambassadors for the charity. They learn relevant procedures and regulations, safety rules and public engagement techniques. Setting targets of just £25 per volunteer over 3 weeks, and the promising Certificates of Appreciation for the top three performers motivates them. Collectively, volunteers are motivated to know that any amount above £500 that their church raises will earn a 10% cash back to assist with local initiatives. Finally, I break down the territory into manageable areas for collectors and advise them to keep to their assigned areas, give them needed resources and lead them into the community. Other roles are banking and oversee the disposal of unused materials at the end. Finally, I compile, sign and send off the Appeal Report, Reporting Book and Banking Receipts to ADRA, while concluding the appeal locally with a celebratory party where volunteer feedback on the Appeal.

Supporting people in their exploration of new activities and social events.Exceed disable people expectations through provision of intuitive services and fulfilment of their needs. Manage people complaints, resolve special issues, and foster professional relationships. Maintain overall quality of rooms through proper inspection on consistent basis. Ensure complete satisfaction by fulfilling people requirements and providing intuitive service.

Performed assembly and warehouse multi tasks including splitting boxed packages and separating them according to different postcodes and off-lining packages with faulty addresses.Scanned and stacked packages to send right parcels. Ensured delivery of packages on time to achieve customer satisfaction level. Key Contributions: Delivered KPI’s to M&S and fitted multiple hydraulic hoses on JCB diggers at timed speeds to meet customer expectations.

Collected ecological data through surveys. Gathered data from ancient and re-evaluated old abandoned wildlife sites for potential conservation. liaised and co-ordinated with interested parties to encourage good conservation management of Wildlife Sites. Managed Trust's applications for new funding, instance, and Lottery Fund.Key Contribution: Supported in preparing report used for re-evaluating wildlife sites and in accessing lottery funds.

The role entailed teaching pupils the importance of wildlife as a natural resource. Detailed information was broken into simple language to suit the audience, in the process helping them understand complex interactions such as the cooperation in social birds like weavers. Local kids were turned into future ambassadors of conservation and environmental protection.

In the camp I recruited, trained and managed the activities of safari guides and other camp staff. It was my duty also to oversee the handling of finances and banking, bookings and client complaints. Extended periods of time were spent in the field – leading tourists in typical African game drives. Here as I guided on small and large elements of wildlife, geography, and interactions between species. Day by day this hugely fulfilling experience enhanced my sense of judgment regarding danger in the deep end of Africa’s deadliest, as knowledge and experience ensured tourist safety. Customer satisfaction was completed through expert driving 4x4 trucks and resolving their queries. But I also always looked forward to taking clients on village tours to give them a full taste of rural African lifestyle.
