Nicolas joined the rapidly growing Corporate Finance division of Aguirre Newman in June. The Corporate Finance team advises real estate companies on corporate transactions such as:- M&A and recapitalization mandates;- Debt analysis and pricing for major loan portfolios;- Strategic advisory for the optimization of assets, capital structure, and fiscal costs.During his time at AN, Nicolas was also engaged in a mandate for the formation of multiple Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).

Greater New York City Area

After completing his academic studies, Nicolas moved to NYC to join INTL FCStone´s investment banking group. As part of the execution team, Nicolas cooperated in middle market debt, equity, and M&A advisory transactions across multiple industries and geographies. Nicolas was responsible for the drafting of marketing materials (sales teasers, investor and client presentations, and investment memorandums) as well as for the development of financial models.During his internship at INTL FCStone, Nicolas received a week-long financial modeling training and partook, among others, in the following mandates:- Two M&A assignments in the TMT space, one on the buy-side and one on the sell-side;- M&A advisory to a PE firm looking to acquire a majority stake in an animal feed producer;- Equity capital raise and strategic advisory to a metals and mining company to commercially deploy its proprietary technology;- Buy-side advisory to strategic buyer interested in the acquisition of a global consumer products brand.

Bryant University

While studying at Bryant University, Nicolas was selected to be part of the Archway Investment fund. A long-only, student-run fund with over $850,000 AUM, invested primarily in mid-cap and large-cap equities. Nicolas was responsible for the coverage of consumer discretionary and consumer staples sectors. The AIF conducts a rigorous process for securities analysis, trade recommendation and execution under a total portfolio framework. Portfolio Management and Securities Analysis courses are taught by industry professionals. Nicolas was also member of the Macro-Economic Committee.

West Palm Beach, Florida Area

Throughout his summer internship at Credit Suisse, Nicolas worked simultaneously with four different Private Banking teams. While at Credit Suisse, he was constantly in touch with capital markets and learned how to make best use of a Bloomberg Platform. During his Internship, Nicolas was responsable for analysing client portfolios and gathering industry research, while completing other ad-hoc projects such as:- Building a database of prospective clients for a marketing campaign;- Building a portfolio analysis tool integrated with Factset’s add-in;- Updating client´s holdings through Credit Suisse´s asset allocation software;- Cold calling;- Contacting over one hundred clients to extend invitations to a private event organized by Credit Suisse.

Providence, Rhode Island Area

Nicolas volunteered at Capital Good Fund while completing his studies at Bryant University. As a Financial Coaching Fellow, Nicolas dealt with clients directly to assist them with their personal finances. He provided clients with resources and guidance to help them achieve their goals, he created a personalized budget and debt management plan, while looking at ways to enhance their credit score. The coaching and other services provided by the organization positively impact society by helping individuals get out of poverty and improve their financial situation through good utilization of credit.

Brazil

While studying abroad in Brazil, Nicolas collaborated on a project funded by the European Union that aimed at contributing to an increase of the renewable energy share of the electrical power generation in Bolivia, Brazil and Chile. A book will be published as a result.
