A guru can listen to a long, rambling list of unrelated symptoms and decide which ones need fixing and which don't while an expert will sit there checking off each task. A guru quickly Googles for the right answer while an expert will investigate each component. A guru understands when to spend time on a problem and when to spend money while an expert will end up doing both.
