I founded Adventure Amigas in 2017 to create a space where mujeres could experience the outdoors together, embracing adventure, culture, and community. Adventure Amigas has grown into a movement rooted in aventura, amor, y amistad—a comunidad where mujeres of color can step into their power, connect deeply with nature, and belong just as they are.At Adventure Amigas, we’re not just about hiking or camping; we’re redefining what it means to belong in the outdoors. Whether it’s summiting peaks, dancing under the stars, or simply trying something new, every experience we offer helps mujeres connect with themselves, each other, and the earth. Through our membership, local and international adventures, and gear programs, we’re breaking down barriers to access and making adventure accessible and inclusive.Today, I lead the Jefahood, an incredible team that serves as the compass of Adventure Amigas, as we build, plan, and create a world where every mujer feels seen, supported, and inspired to live boldly. ◦ Recipient of the Diverse Outdoor Leadership Institute (DOLI) whose mission is to equip diverse people with skills and abilities to lead and expose underrepresented students outdoors ◦ Trained in Leave No Trace Principles, Wilderness First Aid, Crisis Prevention Intervention and rolling out overnight trips ◦ Created and designed an LA River program in partnership with River LA to advocate for access for 12 students from a high school in South Gate ◦ Supported Results Based Leadership meetings with the executive team for accountability ◦ Led social media takeovers as a marketing strategy to gage viewers and gain more followers ◦ Formed partnerships and relationships for sponsorships at the Outdoor Retailer in Colorado
