Online since 1995, I was active in the Web movement fairly early, being the head of the Educational Committee of the Web Standards Project in the late 1990s, advocating the adoption of standards for Web browsers.In 2000, I joined Opera Software, as the head of the first team of online service developers. Over the next 6 years we developed such milestones as the first mobile compatible social community, and drove web development on mobile devices before it became popular.In 2006, after working very hard, I took 9 months off. Travelled Europe and did some mountains. On top of one of those I got an invitation to talk to an interesting proposition in London. Next day I was on a plane heading there and joined Ymogen for a project to allow people to create broadcast quality productions via social media.Unfortunately this failed, but with a colleague I then started Focus Mobile, focusing on creating apps for the car industry -- making significant firsts such as 3D car modelling before it was really possible.I then went on to be part of the largest digital media specialist in Sub-Saharan Africa, including technical management of The Guardian Nigeria, one of Nigeria's largest newspapers, managing a 65 million users/month site. I also got involved in late 2017 with Big Cabal Media, a company running popular African sites such as Zikoko and TechCabal.In 2018 I re-joined my partner from FocusMobile who had by then started Vamoos Ltd, the provider of applications for the travel industry and the future Google of travel (we've got plans!)
