Matthew Needham (b. 1993, Nuneaton, UK) is a British-Czech artist and curator, known for his contributions toward sustainability within the British fashion industry. He is also the leading Sustainability Lecturer for Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins. As an artist-in-residence at the Sarabande Foundation, Needham’s practice focuses on bricolaging fly-tipped waste within his unique exhibition aesthetic. His ever-evolving investigations into the Anthropocene pose greater questions towards humanity's curation of the world around us and its dissemination within nature. In 2021, Needham co-founded ‘The Trash Club’, a professional network and creative community that offers support for independent creatives in the arts. Through weekly knowledge exchange, The Trash Club discusses topics of relevance relating to their C-R-A-P pillars; Consciousness, Responsibility, Authenticity, and People with the goal of encouraging its members to improve both their personal and professional engagement with the world we live in. He has been described as a ‘trailblazer of upcycling' and has been featured in such publications as The Guardian, i-D, Dezeen, the Daily Mail, and Vogue.
