As a consultant Neelam helps Impact driven organisations with program design, strategy and scale via envisaging and activating collaborative ecosystems. She is a hands- on committed enabler and doer who looks at the organisation culture as an important place to seed innovation and empathy to navigate a growing complex and uncertain world.Dr. Neelam is a scholar, an entrepreneur, a scenario planner, curator , and an ecosystem enabler. In the past 25 years she has worked with over 200 + organisations and start ups to scale or find the next breakthrough critical for their own growth.In a recent role at Ashoka - the largest network of social entrepreneurs, Neelam has worked with system change driven Ashoka fellows in India and Bangladesh. Previously, at Deshpande Foundation she has worked with the leadership team to build one of India’s first bottom up ecosystem. The approach to build ecosystem has become part of Harvard case study and been replicated both in India and abroad. In the direct impact over 2 million people were benefitted. Neelam has featured on NDTV Profit as part of her host organization's profile coverage and has spoken at major conferences. She was consulted by the State of Delhi in creating a framework for Entrepreneurship-Mindset Curriculum.Neelam has also chaired the prestigious Development Dialogue for eight years. Neelam has shaped the Dialogue to be one of the most relevant impact events that scaled and have seen the participation of over a thousand social entrepreneurs and hundreds of leaders including Nobel laureates, Industry leaders, Academics, and global philanthropists. In 2011 Neelam founded -Navodyami her first entrepreneurial venture. Navodyami was one of the first accelerator to scale and to provide ecosystem support to micro entrepreneurs. Part of the program design was adapted by UNDP in piloting and scaling grassroots enterprises across the country.Neelam began her career with PRADAN -a national organization promoting livelihoods for rural poor. She has also taught in India and the USA. She has briefly worked with the Women's Fund in Boston and has launched the Women's entrepreneur's wing in TiE Hubli. She has a Ph.D. in Gender Studies from SUNY Buffalo(NY) and Masters in International Development from Brandeis University(USA).Neelam serves at the board of prestigious not- for-profit and also provides advise to various emerging and established organisations working in the field of social impact, Gender equity and livelihoods.
