Director
CurrentMotor City Dhamaal is a nonprofit aimed to promote South Asian culture while also giving back to our local Detroit community. Some big achievements has been rebranding from Detroit Dhamaal and bringing a new look with logos, social media, and partnerships. We were able to secure partnerships with Desi Dance Network, Legends Championship, and Origins Championship. These partnerships helped us to achieve our goals by drawing in the best fusion and classical collegiate teams from around the nation to raise money for charities such as the Detroit Education Society and VT Seva. Motor City Dhamaal also aims to connect the South Asian community in Michigan by utilizing board members from Wayne State University, University of Michigan, and Michigan State University. This allows the organization to reach all three universities and create initiatives on a broad scale. Through this position, I have honed my skills in event planning, logistics management, sponsor relation, web design, financial planning, data entry, data management, partnership management, website design, and many more skills. Additionally, gradually understanding how to manage a team of 28 board members and challenging myself to work with each individual. These management skills have taught me a lot about how to delegate and how our organization needed restructuring. Between 2024 and 2025, we have added multiple new position within board and specializing in training underclassmen to insure continued success of Motor City Dhamaal. Overall, this experience has allowed me to grow both internally and professionally. This organization would not be as successful without my co-directors, board, sponsors, volunteers, and community members.
