An Engineer, who was late to realize how much he loved engineering, to design things and see them taking shape. Was good at academics since childhood. And like any other Indian kid, gravitated towards Mathematics & Science. Over time, decided to get into finance and choose Commerce stream after 10th. On the last day, ended up selecting ‘Science’ in 11th class admission form. Grew fond of classical physics and programming during high school, went deeper. Chose Mechanical Engineering later. With influences from everywhere during those 4 years, decided to do MBA (again, like a typical Indian Engineer). Prepared for CAT (and other exams). On reaching final year in Engineering, the thought of MBA led to anticipatory nostalgia for all the technical stuff I had learned and worked on. So took CAT, GRE, TOEFL, GATE, UPSC (CDS) and various other exams to keep my options open. Near the end of 8th Semester, secured MBA & MS admissions, and received job offers. By this time, I had realized how much I loved my mechanical engineering - physics, combined with programming and controls. So decided to use my knowledge and experience in real world.Worked in both research and industrial domains, and felt the need for global exposure. Secured admission in one of the best US universities, and got advanced engineering education. Very soon, I understood that technical knowledge had to be coupled with management skills to have a good control of your growth trajectory. Took up a challenging role at Weitron, where I had adequate technical knowledge, but close to none management skills. Still, the top management trusted me with the critical responsibility of setting up their new production facility and managing their production personnel. Helped build a plant from scratch, establish processes, plan daily production, and wore various other hats. After almost 2.5 years of rigorous learning and execution, decided it’s time to return to India, the place I call home.Took a break from professional life, travelled for 3 months across the US, and returned to my hometown Ahmedabad. For the long journey ahead, I have now started working with an Engineering Consulting Firm. A new phase of my journey through the ever expanding universe of engineering!
