With over seven years of experience as a co-investigator, consultant, and advisor for various NIH-funded projects, I have developed a passion and expertise for patient-centered research, equity, diversity, and inclusion in health care. Currently, I am a Co-Principal Investigator at Vanderbilt University Medical Center - STAR Program, where I work with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement innovative strategies to engage and empower diverse communities in research and health improvement initiatives.I am also a Director of Engagement and Community Education at NIH Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) and a Director of Education and Engagement with Tennessee Community Engagement Alliance (TN CEAL), where I leverage my skills in non-profit management, community outreach, public speaking, and pastoral care to cultivate meaningful relationships with stakeholders, partners, and participants. I have contributed to the development and refinement of community engagement models, training materials, and curriculum for researchers and community members. Additionally, I have co-authored publications on clinical translational science and community-based participatory research. My mission is to advance health equity and inclusion through collaborative and impactful research that addresses the needs and priorities of the communities I serve.
