Drove the strategy and road map for RMS’ global Cat Response service in addition to having responsibility for the cross-functional coordination and execution of RMS’ response to all real-time catastrophe events, including the 2008 Atlantic Hurricane Season and the 2007 UK floods. Improved and implemented new tools and processes to ensure the smooth running of the cat response service during the course of this role. Definition of Market Requirements for all aspects of the Cat Response service and associated modelling and software tools.

Analysed and interpreted the latest meteorological data including Synops, Metars, Buoy Data, Satellite and Radar images in addition to computer model data to produce global marine and land-based forecasts. Work to very tight deadlines, producing between 30-40 client specific marine forecasts on each 12 hour shift for a diverse set of geographical locations, including the Caspian Sea, offshore Nigeria and Mauritania, Gulf of Suez, Mediterranean Sea, North Sea and the Caribbean. Additionally responded to ad-hoc client requests for forecasts (by phone).
