Svp, Business Development & Legal Affairs/Co-FounderNprex Nov 2016 - Apr 2021NPREX (National Performing Rights Exchange) is the first-ever online platform for direct licensing of performance rights for music compositions and sound recordings. NPREX is a low-cost/high-tech solution for the music industry that uses a patent-pending pricing algorithm to help parties negotiate and enable direct licensing at market prices. Not a performing rights organization, NPREX is rather an exchange where music publishers and record labels, on the one hand, and music users (broadcasters, streaming services, etc.) on the other, can meet online to do their own deals. Built specifically for the performing rights industry, by performing rights industry professionals, NPREX implements a simple market-based licensing solution that costs a fraction of the current paradigm, and puts the performing rights industry on solid economic and legal footing. In my role I work with music publishers, record labels, songwriters, recording artists, streaming services, broadcasters, and all other music users to educate them about music licensing and bring them to the platform. I also advise/counsel NPREX on various legal matters and serve as the company's lead on business affairs and development.
