I have more than 40 years of professional experience in Pathology in progressively responsible positions at national and international level. I have MD in Pathology (1986) from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Since 1994, I worked as full time faculty and in-charge of cytopathology laboratory at AIIMS and MAMC and became Professor of Pathology in 2002. I am well versed with advanced laboratory techniques with expertise in liquid based cytology (Thin Prep), Fluorescent in-situ Hybridisation (FISH), Immunochemistry, Fluorescent Microscopy, ELISA , Endoscopic and endoscopic ultrasound guided Cytology, Hybrid capture technique for HPV testing and PCR. I have good experience in telecytology as well.I have served in the executive committee of Indian Academy of Cytology and was Programme co-ordinator for screening for cancer cervix under"Women’s Health Program" of Govt of Delhi, India. I have international experience as a visiting Professor at the Department of Pathology, University Hospital of Geneva and Consultant, at the regional laboratory of Switzerland. I have also worked as consultant to World Health Organisation (WHO) HQ, Geneva.I also worked as Associate professor, and consultant cytopathologist, Department of Pathology, Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya.Specialties: CytopathologyI am highly skilled in pap smear screening, cytological interpretation of all FNACs and body fluids, performing Fine needle aspiration for all palpable lesions, guided fine needle aspiration and rapid onsite evaluation at radiology clinic and bronchoscopic clinic.
