PSI is a small independent software house specialising in retail in-store systems for large retail chains in the UK & Europe. I was involved in all aspects of design, coding and unit testing of software. I later took on the role of system tester which gave me an insight to the future career path I wanted to take in IT. I worked in various areas of software including back office reporting, maintenance functionality, point of sale applications, shelf edge labelling, promotions, EFTPOS on DOS, Windows & OS/2 platforms. My main achievement was the rolling out of Iceland’s (small supermarket chain) EFTPOS systems & the system testing for a large B & Q (similar to Bunnings) release. The later resulted in the most stable software this office had released mainly due to my thorough testing.
