Associated with American Express (AXP) over 8 years now, currently leading team of professionals to drive the Corporate Controllership functions for AXP, including Accounting and Reporting of Restructuring and Litigation activities AXP wide. Led in past Control and Compliance framework for AXP Balance Sheet Reconciliation process. A responsible and dynamic professional, led multi year strategic project for the AXP Reconciliation policy implementation of changes thereof. Extensive experience in fielf of Audit and Assurance domain with KPMG, India for 5 years worked upon diverse portfolio of clients which includes managing high risk listed entities across consumer products, Internet media, NGO’s, BPO’s & Aviation sector. Engaged in leading large teams on various engagements and has a successful track record of team management and delivering high quality services to its clients. Task included Audit planning, execution and appropriate closure within the laid down timelines Understanding the industry and business of the client, risk assessment, evaluation of internal control environment, and evaluating the clients systems and processes.Assessing appropriateness of accounting principles and policies adopted and statutory compliance thereof with corporate laws, tax laws and other major legislations applicable in specific to the industry / operations of the Company. Documentation of reportable matters such audit issues, analytical procedures, process study notes Coordinating with top management of audit clients for issue resolution and appropriate disclosure impact over financial statementsPrepared and presented audit committee presentations and performance improvement observations/ management letter for various clients.Prepared various Issue highlight memorandum under US GAAP for reporting purposes summarizing key audit/ reporting issues; Developed Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) across functional areas for clients to comply with SOX requirements for SEC listed clients.Recommending performance improvement measures through management letters to clients on strategic management, corporate governance, risk management, design and operation of internal controls, statutory compliance and emerging issues of relevance to the industry and business.
