I am a job-seeker looking for opportunities in Accounting and Finance. Growing up, there was nothing I loved more than numbers. They are unusual things to like for a kid at the age of 7, no doubt about that. It led my parents to believe I was a genius-in-the-making for about 4 years (it was a false alarm). Genius or not, I wanted to grow up to do something related to it. Finance and accounting seemed a natural step in that direction.I recently moved to USA a few months ago. Previous to that, I worked with my father for two years, who runs a Accounting Tax Firm, 'Messrs Devendra Shethia & Co.'. I specialized in preparing finalizing financial statements, preparing audit reports and filing tax returns for individuals, firms and companies. Due to a cyber-crime incident, we managed to lose 85% of our data a month prior to the tax filing due date. I was responsible for preparing, filing and submitting more than 70% of these returns. This saved us approximately Rs. 1,250,000 in potential late-filing penalties. Prior to that, I graduated from Stony Brook University, New York with a MBA (Finance & Accounting) and am a certified Chartered Accountant as per ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India).
