The Multicultural Executive Career Advancement (MECA) is a new professional development experience designed to prepare staff of color who are already enrolled in the Multicultural Mentoring Program for their first Executive Director position. MECA was developed in response to the increasing number of requests from YMCAs asking Y-USA’s Multicultural Development and other networks to help them recruit Executive Directors of color. MECA was created by YMCA Executive Directors who are Multicultural Executive Development Institute alumni to develop a pipeline within the Movement of Branch Executives who are representative of our changing population.

• Camp Director in the summer, overseeing over 375 children daily, keeping a safe environment • Providing leadership and supervision to over 75 staff daily • Responsible for managing a budget • Increase program participation by 9%• Highly capable of running successful programs and increasing employee productive by 75% • Self-motivated and hands-on management approach leads to a high level work environment • Able to fully create, manage, forecast and operate a budget• Onboarding staff including HR paperwork and training. • Knowledgeable and skill set in project management, fiscal management, grant writing, cultural lenses, problem solving & improving critical thinking
