About Nina Eikelis

I have over 15 years of experience in biomedical research in the area of cardiovascular medicine having worked in research institutes and University. My research has focused on understanding metabolic, genetic, hormonal and neuronal determinants underpinning cardiovascular disease development in a number of clinically important conditions including hypertension, obesity, metabolic syndrome and psychosomatic conditions. My experience involves extensive clinical work complemented by a wide range of molecular skills. My passion is communicating clinical findings to a variety of audiences, including peers, high school students, undergraduate and postgraduate audiences and the general public. I have been active in the clinical research community, regularly presenting at national and international conferences, working across diverse executive and professional committees and leading and mentoring high performing teams. I have strong skills in proposal and grant writing and enjoy identifying and communicating creative solutions that appeal to a range of audiences. I possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills which enable me to express myself clearly, concisely and logically both orally and in writing.
