In 1997 Romiley Board Mill complemented its converting operations by entering into the cardboard core market. With the installation of a C Perkin Tube production line supplying Carpet Cores to the carpet manufacturers and distribution markets. Since 2002 the Paper Tube Division had grown rapidly with the introduction of 9 further production lines serving sectors including the Tapes and Labels market, Polythene Extrusion, Postal and Packaging Industries along with Paper Mill Cores, Textile Cores and Roller Blind Cores. The operation now converts a large part of the board mill production and is currently one of the largest independent core and tube producing operations in the UK.
