  Neil is a Director of both of SMEC’s operation businesses and sits on SMEC’s Executive Committee responsible is responsible for new business within the SMEC’s operation.Neil has over 40 years’ experience in the delivery of large infrastructure projects from up front inception, design, construction and due diligence for potential acquisitions.Neil has sat on numerous Project Boards, Leadership Teams or as Project Director for major projects around Australia. These have included Large Studies, PPP, BOOT, Alliances and D&C projects. Neil was employed in 1993 by SMEC when it privatised to help convert the government entity to a successful private company.His initial task was help it grow the Australian business. During that time the Australian business has grown from less than 20 to around 1200 and the Holdings business from 180 to 5500. For much of his career he was involved in large water infrastructure projects including the studies and for Warragamba Dam upgrade. He is present the Project Director for the raising of The Roseires Dam on the White Nile in Northern Sudan and has been heavily involved at an executive level in the Adelaide Desalination plant. Neil is also an industry expert in structuring contracts for the delivery of major infrastructure projects. He has deep understanding of all forms of contracts including PPP’s. BOO(T), Alliances, Partnering and Design/Construct. Recently Neil was asked by the client to take over for six months as the Project Director’s on the $1.9B Gateway Upgrade so that the project could be brought back onto program and contractual issues resolved.Neil’s depth of industry experience, skills, qualifications and SMEC company knowledge will ensure that the SMEC’s focus and support at all levels are to be maintained.
