I continued my education out of high school with an Associate of Arts degree from Southeastern Community College. After SCC, I went on to Western Illinois University to complete a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Management. After college, I worked in the HVAC field for 2 years as a laborer. I gained first-hand installation and job site experience in doing so, providing me with a solid foundation to build my career on.For the next 8 years, I worked with AutoCAD using a design-to-fab software in order to create drawings, material reports, and fittings for commercial HVAC projects. I learned how to coordinate mechanical work with other trades on large scale commercial projects from start to finish. I managed project BIM coordination, put submittals together, wrote RFIs, and helped the team out with HVAC estimates as well. I also worked with Trimble RTS layout equipment, bringing CAD to the field in a real-world application.I have now accepted a position as a Project Engineer with Carl A Nelson company hoping to expand my knowledge in the construction field and further my career.When I'm not on the job, I enjoy spending time with my wife, daughter, and son as well as golfing and completing projects around the house.
