I joined Options IT in a technical support engineering role.

My jobs included consulting clients on their energy usage, assisting in the audits of the business/SME and using this data to construct solutions to reduce client spent and emissions. While visiting client sites digital mapping tools (2D/3D) are employed. A drone is used to develop an understanding of the site and aid in the solar PV report. Working under the SEAI guidelines securing funds for: Solar PV installation, alternative heat source (biomass/heat pump), wind turbines, hydro schemes and more. Consulting on businesses to aid in the digitisation of their process. Streamlining their processes, removing bottleneck stages and integrating automation.

Over summer I worked full time as a barista in Caffe Nero, working 35 hour weeks and gaining further insight and understanding of the hospitality industry while dealing with customers and handling cash and card transactions.

While working for Lowden guitars I was given the opportunity to work within an emerging production line of their subsidiary- ‘Sheeran By Lowden’. During my placement I was able to shadow a range of different people within the production line including the production manager, the operations engineer in charge setting up and programming the complex machinery, and a distribution manager dealing with the relevant shipment and documentation of the finished goods leaving the production line.

As a lifeguard in ‘Let’s Go Hydro’s inflatable obstacle park day to day duties included safety checks of the various components of the park to ensure customer safety, regular maintenance and setup of the various obstacles, routine and rigorous lifeguarding duties to ensure the customers are safe while using the park.

While studying in Queens University Belfast I worked for the on-campus catering staff. While working with Hospitality & Services duties included the set up and preparation for large events such as dinners, weddings, and conferences. The duty would extend to the running of these events and finally the clean-up. Furthermore, while working for Queens Hospitality & Services I received bar training. Working as a bar floor staff and later as a bar manager, with the responsibility of the money both used in and gained from the cash register.
