Freelance writer, journalist and PR Consultant. Also working in TV, as Police Technical Advisor to the scriptwriters of Coronation Street and Waterloo Road. My career began in the Legal Profession. I qualified as a Legal Executive, gaining Fellowship in 2000. I joined the Police in 1997. The first part of my service was in community policing. With the highlight being as Sergeant on a pilot scheme of a multi-agency anti social behaviour team.I spent a five year secondment working in CBRN, planning for major events and terrorist attack . I am a member of the Emergency Planning Society and sit on their CBRN Professional Working Group.Photography and journalism has been a part time interest for many years. A large part of my work at PNCBRNC was in publishing the national CBRN Practitioners Journal.I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists. I retired from Nottinghamshire Police in 2019, having spent my last 18 months rebuilding Nottinghamshire’s CBRN capacity and developing closer relationships with the Fire Service. Specialties: Journalism, photography, CBRN, terrorism, policing & security, travel, adventure sport, motorcycling .My writing and photography have now been combined under the umbrella of Lauman Media and Publishing.I write for publications in Britain, USA and Australia.Since retiring from the police, I combined by interests in travel and writing, by creating guidebooks, including the popular Robin Hood 500 (500RH) Route.
