ABB is a motor and generator repair facility.Mechanical Fitter working in the mechanical section which involves stripping, overhauling and assembly of large AC - DC Traction Motors from mine site Haul –Packs. This process involves the use of various hand tools, welding and balancing to G1 & G2 standards and the removal of bearings using pullers and the fitting of bearings using induction heater. I have also overhauled water pumps & large machine gearboxes.
