Conference And Events Technician
Working with external clients and in conjunction with colleagues to produce and coordinate in-house events and shows for corporate business and internal productions. I was responsible for the production management of the events or entertainment products for example rigging, audio-visual requirements, sets, theming, video production, lighting and sound, pyrotechnics and management of performers within my remit, contracts of suppliers, tendering and negotiations. During this period I was able to Increase sales of technical packages year on year with clear profit margins and leading to annual package sales of over £200,000. I have recruited for seasonal and permanent employees and ran and been involved in regular assessment days for performers to technical employees.The role demanded a very high level of professionalism and flexibility, as well as excellent organisational, time management and communication abilities. The job was always varied and challenging due to the nature of Alton Towers and the industry, working closely with and managing external client’s expectations during meetings working close with internal employees and external contractors, working with budgets of around £100,000 per contract. Authorizing stock and purchase orders, overseeing building maintenance and health and safety of the events and the venue. During my time here I successfully project managed and coordinated various entrainment projects and multiple events simultaneously running and attractions across the resort, including; concerts, product launch’s and large public events, seasonal parties, weekend attractions such as dancing with the stars, Dreamworks Madagascar weekends, comedy shows, conferences, exhibitions, product launches, world record attempts in various venues and a diverse range of events/shows and a large range in venues outdoors, Marquees, conference rooms, theatres, historic buildings and open areas around the resort and UK.
