I am a British National born, raised and educated in the Nth. West of the UK. I have spent 15 years in the British Merchant Navy and my final position was as Chief Engineer. Further time, to a total of 17 years, was spent in the Oil and Gas Industry, 10 of which were as an expatriate working for Shell and Exxon. The countries I worked in during that time were Libya, Thailand, Brunei and East Malaysia. In 1991 I commenced working,as a contracting engineer, with Foster Wheeler, Reading, and finally left that company in 2010. During that time I spent time in Colombia in the development of the Cusiana Oil field and I also spent a year with British Petroleum in their logistics group generally overseeing the minor projects across the UK that were associated with their petroleum products distribution network. In 2010, I made a decision to spend my energy and resources to help the Colombian Government´s initiative to make Colombia a country of choice for world tourists. My particular input to assist in this initiative was to set up a company to facilitate the development of the English language for Colombian students.. The company´s file path is myhcolombia.com. However, I am also a keen sailor and I believe that having a sound academic education needs to be enhanced by having leadership skills. Such leadership skill´s can be gained through a period spent on Sail Training Ships. Accordingly, I have an ambition to found the first Royal Yacht Association centre in South America.Developing the Educational Tours business ( Study and Travel) and routing some of my life's experience back to young people to give them a heads up is a painfully slow and yet rewarding experience. Young people need to be "shown the ropes" and given sound advice before they set of on their life's journey. A chunk of all contracts I have taken on is to mentor graduates. The reward when they mention my name in posts makes up for the time given to them which was given freely.2016 Relocated to Colombia
