I hold a number of portfolio NED roles and continue as a part time executive / senior advisor on one residual complex programme. A history of executive roles as Divisional Chief Operating Officer; Group Enterprise Wide Risk Director (‘EWRM’); together with various compliance and complex remediation roles; and a large part of my early career in corporate banking. Experience presenting to board level on current and horizon risks, costs and efficiency, large projects etc. Liaison with Regulators. My career has played to my skills - highly financially literate and commercial, but also able to identify, manage and mitigate risk. In numbers, across various senior roles - personal credit sanctioning authority £100m, Led direct teams of over 125, strategically managed annual cost budgets of over £400m and 3500 FTE, and annual change budgets of over £100m.A number of roles have included managing teams through periods of ambiguity, establishing teams and frameworks, and managing within environments where regulatory confidence had to be re-established. Onshore and offshore experience. Executive project sponsorships and leadership - across risk frameworks, 3 lines of defence, regulatory enforcements, risk data (Bcbs 239), SMR legal entity extensions and entity rationalisation, material technology / IT. Depth of skills in overarching Risk Management Framework, Governance , Debt and business viability assessment and restructuring, Credit Risk, Consumer Duty. Breadth of knowledge across most risk types - prudential and non prudential. Knowledgable in Senior Managers and Certification Regime (‘SMCR’) expectations and application approaches and a strategic but practical understanding of how risk management frameworks can be leveraged and enhanced to support good Individual and Firm based reasonable steps.
