CurrentSkyral Group was spun out from Improbable as a separate organisation in Sep 2023.My role at Improbable Defence was a hands-on, technical lead role, where the primary technology was C++ on Windows. My focus was designing and implementing a new set of components that allow third party training products to be integrated with the firm’s synthetic simulation environment. The objective is to enable very large-scale military training exercises with potentially many 100s (or even 1000s) of trainees interacting with many 100s of thousands of synthetic entities (vehicles, civilians, military personnel) in real-time by integrating existing training tools and simulators that the military are already familiar with.My role at Skyral builds upon the Improbable worker, however, the focus moved to enabling 100s of trainees to interact with the synthetic environment in real-time as well as designing and building high fidelity models for pedestrians and vehicles to give a much more convincing trainee experience.The technology I use every day is C++ 20 on both Windows and Linux.
