Organization and management of HVAC/mechanical systems for a variety of project types. Projects include small commercial tenant finishes to high-rise multifamily. Currently we are expanding our operations with more commercial work. Other duties of my position include directing marketing of our firm to new and existing clients. Selective business development is essential to my work.

I'm currently the lead Project Manager for all construction projects in the Eastern half of the United States at Mendel and Company Construction. My primary focus with this position is restaurant construction with a secondary focus in retail/office T.I. work. We have several clients that negotiate work with us throughout the region. Our current primary clients are Bad Daddy's Burger Bar and Parry's Pizzeria & Bar, averaging about 4,500 square feet of food service construction. These projects are high intensity, complicated and require constant supervision with an average of 12 weeks from award to punch list.My other title/responsibility is Business Development, which has me travel throughout the region to visit new clients, presenting our business history and the success that we have in performing such complicated work. The goal is always to complete projects ahead of schedule which when accomplished allows the company to sell itself. Mendel and Company didn't specialize in food service/hospitality work until about five years ago with the addition of my counterpart, Matthew Redick. Being in business since 1997, Mendel has excelled beyond our industry peers in all forms of construction, including medical/dental facilities, office tenant improvements, general retail, and even grow facilities. Direct or coordinate an organization's financial or budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency. Analyze operations to evaluate performance of a company or its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, project improvement, or policy change. Appoint department heads or managers and assign or delegate responsibilities to them, discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems. Implement corrective action plans to solve organizational or departmental problems. Develop company templates for standard documents for client presentation such as marketing materials, project estimate proposals, additional work authorizations, submittal and closeout documentation.

Incorporate background experience and education in general construction with primary scope of work to avoid conflicts. Design/re-design of provided scope of work to create nominal routing while eliminating aesthetic conflicts. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
