London-headquartered Freshwave was founded in 2019 on the back of a series of acquisitions by American asset manager DigitalBridge. I joined Freshwave as CFO shortly after its formation in 2020. As a board member I provided strategic leadership with the CEO and C-suite management team. A private equity backed health technology venture.Following successful clinical trials in 2018 the service has launched in the UK as ‘Audacious’. An MVNO with own branding, customer service & distribution delivering what is believed to be the first ever mobile communications proposition to deliver an enhanced and customised audio experience, specifically aimed at people with hearing loss. This is expected to present a life changing experience for the many millions of people affected by impaired hearing. Goshawk’s embedded software solution technology can be adapted to language and culture. The group is also developing international opportunities.

Reporting to the Managing Director Mobile & Voice Technology (post-acquisition of EE by BT). Responsible for defining the strategy and delivering ~£500m annual mobile portfolio investment (including 5G) and commercial transformation programmes. Leading a multi-functional team of ~300 FTE, responsible for delivering key transformation projects to improve EE’s mobile network performance and develop its data analytics capability.

Finance director for EE’s business division (£1bn+ annual revenue) a key growth area including 3m corporate customers, MVNO’s and new business ventures. Responsible for all aspects of financial investment directly supporting EE’s Chief EE’s Chief of Sales and Marketing for Business. Acchieved £100m (+17%) profit growth 2015.Includes strategic planning, financial management, MI, commercial contracts and commissions operations. Team of ~35 senior commercial and operational finance professionals.

Finance director for EE’s technology division following the merger of Orange and T-Mobile. Responsible for strategy and financial management of c£1.2bn annual spend, working with EE’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), • Achieved ~£200m annual networks & IT synergy operating cost savings from complex integration programmes, • Executed key commercial agreements supporting integration, including deeper network share agreements with Three, • Financial management for the most advanced LTE deployment in the UK, and, IT supporting EE launch.

Senior leadership role reporting to the UK finance director responsible for leading and developing a team delivering financial reports, plans and revenue/interconnect forecasts to T-Mobile UK management and shareholders, (T-Mobile UK annual turnover ~£3bn), • Supported on target delivery results, recruited and developed T-Mobile UK’s planning and reporting team following a finance department restructure, • Collaborative leadership of the financial baseline and synergy target work-stream for the new joint venture with Orange.

Managed a team of qualified controllers delivering the reporting, forecasting and strategic planning process for networks and IT during a period of significant change (annual spend c£0.6bn), • Led the finance work-stream of the joint venture network share project with H3G - from initial discussions to MOU, final contract and set up of the company (MBNL). The JV is now fully operational realising significant opex and capex savings and supporting best network strategy in the UK, • Leadership of the commercial work stream supporting outsourcing of T-Mobiles networks divisions to managed service partners.

AIM listed global provider of software and solutions, serving customers across the financial services sector. Interim Group Financial Controller following a major acquisition and managed the integration of the financial function during a change of finance director. Projects included raising bank financing, implementation of a new finance system, managing the annual budget process and transition of the group to IFRS.
