In this position I - Coordinated projects on site to enhance site safety including development and introduction of traffic management, Process Mapping and “Lock Out, Tag Out” projects. - Managed contractors to ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements. - Reduced lost time workplace injuries and the cost of workers compensation claims compared to previous years through improved injury management procedures and implementing a Return to Work Program. - Attended case conferences with injured workers and their doctors, developed and monitored return to work plans and arranged for rehabilitation providers when required. - Investigated incidents and assessed hazards and developed action plans to reduce risks. - Developed and delivered safety training presentations to 100+ employees.- Introduced digital technology to the WHS department including mobile and tablet inspections, audits and risk assessments, and remote online contractor inductions which reduced the time they required to complete and improved record keeping and document control.

As a ground floor employee I created a positive safety culture leading to improved safety focus for employees as the chairperson of the work health and safety committee. Achieved over 100% increase in hazard and incident reporting from employees and consistently assisted in eliminating safety hazards to minimize associated risks.
